Purchasing a grad package does not confirm your student’s completion of required documentation or coursework for graduation. Students should contact their respective academic advisors for details regarding eligibility and applications to graduate .

 Do I have to wear a cap and gown during my ceremony?

Yes, appropriate regalia is required for all in-person ceremonies. The required items include a black cap (or tam for PhD students during Spring ceremonies), gown and tassel (and hood for Master’s and Doctorate students). 

Exceptions include UCI Ph.D. professional regalia.

I graduate in the Fall, do I have to buy my cap and gown now?

No, this Spring Grad Expo is for students graduating in June. There will be another Grad Expo in the Fall for students graduating in December.

What items are available for purchase?
Exclusive Grad Packages are available that range from basic grad packages to a Life Premium pack. Prices vary on degree level.

Items sold individually for Spring 2024 include cap, official UCI tassel, stacked 2024 tassel, rhinestone 2024 tassel, bachelors gown, masters gown, and masters hood.

What’s included in my basic cap and gown package? 

The bachelor package will include the cap, bachelor’s gown, Anteater zipper pull, and official UCI tassel.

The master package will include the cap, master’s gown, official UCI tassel, Anteater zipper pull, and school-specific colored master’s hood.

The doctoral package will include the tam, doctoral gown, official UCI tassel, Anteater zipper pull, and doctoral hood.

How do I know what size gown I need to order?
Your gown size is based on your height (feet aka imperial measurements). Caps and tams are one size fits all. Unfamiliar with the height conversion between the metric and imperial? Use this conversion website

Can I order my cap and gown package online?

For a limited time, Cap and Gown packages will be available for purchase online. 

I already have a gown and only need my cap/tassel/hood. Where can I purchase these items? 

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. MasterCard, Visa and Discover are all accepted forms of payment. We do not accept American Express.

When will I get my cap and gown package?

If you selected to have your order shipped, please place your order by May 31, 2024 to ensure adequate time for processing and shipping. Deadline applies to domestic orders only. Restrictions apply. See shipping policy for details.

For domestic orders, please allow a minimum of 1-2 weeks for order processing before our order is shipped. Once your order is shipped, your package should arrive within 5-7 business days, pending any service issues from the courier service.

International order delivery timeframes are subject to customs as dictated by your government.

Can I choose Express Shipping to receive it faster?

No, all orders will ship via FedEx Ground. Unfortunately we cannot expedite processing/shipping for special circumstances (e.g. grad photoshoots). We recommend waiting to schedule parties or grad shoots until after receiving the package.

How do I get my academic cord?

Please contact your school directly for information regarding academic cords.

Where can I get information regarding the Commencement ceremony?
The UCI Alumni Association does not control Commencement ticketing or celebrations. Please check the official UCI Commencement website at commencement.uci.edu for information as it becomes available.
